The Victoria Peak – It is also known as Mount Austin; the peak, it is one point where you can see this province in all of its magnificence. It can be reached by foot or train, be it evening or night, the view (watching tall sky-scraper beside taller sky-scraper) is not only fun in itself, but you may find yourself giving an inadvertent bow to Chinese communism. When you try to take in the exquisite post-card like image, even more spectacular is the scenery while travelling up and back by the Peak train.
Hong Kong Space Museum - One of the sites which draws both adult and young crowds, this museum of astronomy and space science, in Tsim Sha Tsui, coming to know that it got completed in 1980, and was in the works since 1961. The tourists wonder about this long construction duration, but once you have been to and seen the planetarium (its egg shaped dome, more than 8000 square meters, a destination and landmark in itself), The Stanley Ho Space Theater, the hall of space sciences, the Hall of astronomy, you’ll understand the reason. Not simply a place where you go and take a stroll around, these ornate halls not only quench the young thirsty minds but can also satiate the adult mind.
Hong Kong - Disneyland - Globally, one of the most famous theme parks, located on reclaimed land, in penny’s bay on Lantau Island, the name by itself is a crowd puller, and once you are inside the place, one may go to, the Main Street USA, Fantasyland, adventure-land, grizzly gulch, mystic point, toy story land and tomorrow-land. The Disney managed theme park is huge (humungous by Hong Kong standards) spread over 68 acres, it boasts of a daytime parade, “Flights of Fantasy” and ‘Paint the night’ in the nighttime, along with a night-time firework show, (hugely popular amongst children), titled “Disney in the stars”. You can also enjoy seasonal entertainment in the form of Disney’s haunted Halloween, A Sparkling Christmas, and disney’s Chinese new year are sheer spectacles for us. Especially for the kids, the life sized cartoons, the exclusive Disney merchandise along with the exquisite rides are too much fun.
