Description
Truly, there are very few places on the planet where you can find landscapes as dramatic and surreal as Indonesia. If you were to travel to the Sulawesi island you will land in a beach haven laced by shores of sparkling white sand, cobalt blue skies and an idyllic coastal scenery. Sumatra on the other hand is silhouetted by a spine of more than 100 volcanoes stretching into distance, several of which are active. But it is Bali’s beaches that are a real draw for travellers. Nusa Tenggar, for instance, has some really remote and isolated stretches of sand. Or head to the Banda Islands in Maluku, you can even try out Derawan in Kalimantan or Pulau Weh very close to Sumatra for some spectacular beaches and aquamarine waters.
The land offers terrific scope for some real adventure. From innumerable treks through the wilderness of Borneo, watching orangutans swing from branch to branch, enjoying surfing breaks in quaint islands, riding the train across Java and gazing out of its open door, soaking up the stunning blue around you when careening up to the Kei Islands, hitching a scooter ride in the volcanic landscape of Flores, to viewing the hanging graves of Toraja, the sheer variety of the experiences will take your breath away, saying nothing of discovering strange local customs and even architecture.
Ubud: A cultural destination, Ubud, is where visitors come to witness classical dances that are performed at cultural venues every night, and the streets are abuzz with craft shops, lively bistros and cafes, art galleries, and yoga studios. Bali is home to a wealth of Hindu temples, with the most prominent one being the Tanah Lot, Uluwatu and Besakih temples and some brilliant hikes up volcanoes such as Gunung Agung and Gunung Batur. The temples in Bali are so elaborate with almost as elaborate rituals that take place daily.
Kuta, Legian and Seminyak: About 10 kilometre southwest of Denpasar is the party haven of Bali at the Kuta-Legian-Seminyak conurbation. A beach resort, this stretch is choc-a-bloc with hotels, pubs, shops and restaurants, though the beach also remains one of the best on the island. The golden sand beach extends for 8 kilometre and receives massive breakers with very strong undertow. But this is where anyone visiting Indonesia, particularly Bali, arrives, spends time and parties propelled by a thriving nightlife, with some of the chicer dos taking place in Petitenget and Seminyak.
Before planning for your Bali tour, you must know that nowhere on earth will you find a place as diverse and contrast as Bali. The Island of Gods rife with natural beauty has a list of unending idyllic beaches, vivid green terraced rice fields, lush rainforest, and stunning sunsets. The list doesnt end here as there are so much more to see and experience in this magnificent island paradise! Visitors can expect water-based adventure, stunning temples, creative arts, trekking, yoga, meditation, exotic cuisine and fantastic nightlife here. Going to Bali feels like a never-ending adventure as there is an activity to suit every soul.
