The North East region of India is best visited from October to May, which spans winter, spring and summer. The weather is largely cold and cool through the region during winter and spring with Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh and the northern areas of Sikkim receiving heavy snowfall. In December Nagaland hosts the Hornbill Festival and the music scene is alive with events galore. It draws tourists from far and wide during this season. North East receives high rainfall during its long monsoon months from June through September.
